How do you know if your k-wire came loose?
How do you know if your k-wire was released after surgery? Just curious. Would you could feel it loose? I have k strings containing bones of the index fingers together. I can still feel the k-wire wrapped around the bones and I do not think that happened to me.
In a toe joint that is likely that if the cable is released you would be able to see it as a lump sticking out under skin. In a further joint, like a doll you may not see it but people often report feeling a crushing sensation or that the board feels bad. The heel bone after 6 weeks usually so even if the cable came loose bones remain together and stable, but the cable may be withdrawn in a simple procedure.
