Strands Blue
Does anyone know any treatment for dog bites?
I think my pug might have Pica. She is recovering from having swallowed a safety pin. During surgery to remove it, the doctor found blue cloth, several strands of rope, a small stone, spiders, large amounts of grass, and fiber batting. We believe that it can not stop swallowing things. Any suggestions?
The easier the treatment of pica behavior is to provide enough exercise and active play for the animal. Taking the dog for a good long back twice a day will help tire the dog, give the dog with fellowship and fun. After a long, the dog will spend more time at rest, and this should help use up some energy that was spent looking for items collect in your mouth. For dogs who want to find, chew and carry things in your mouth is useful to guide the dog to an object acceptable as a strong nylon or bone rawhide. Teasing the dog with a bone or a chew toy will help stimulate interest in the object. Encourage the dog to play with acceptable chew items. (Be sure the bone or chew item is large enough so the dog can not swallow.) In cases where it seems that the dog is exhibiting pica behavior to attention and the dog is doing the behavior in your presence, it is best to ignore the dog if you already have something in your mouth. Any reaction, including a car chase friendly, or aggressive response, is considered a reward for the dog. The optimal time for intervention is to divert attention from the dog before the dog is close to an object that intends to collect. For example, order the dog to perform some previously learned command-response, and then through petting reward or food. This treatment generally involves greater oversight of the dog.
