Silver Guppies odd behavior?
I’ve just bought 2 new silver guppies for my tank. There was one fish in there already and that was a bleeding heart tetra.
In the tank there is a fake plant and a medium sized ornament that has a lip at the base of it (it like a circular greek building, but as its plastic it has a lip and a hollow space underneath).
The fish were swimming around fine and now suddenly the 2 guppies have gone under this hollow space…its quite small so it a bit of a squeeze – why is this?
Also, since the fish have been in there they have made this white blob stuff on the false plant – what could that be?

If the guppies are small then they could squeeze under the ornament and get inside. Fish can hide in unusual places and sometimes that makes it hard to find them. They might have gone under it because they were afraid or are trying to get used to the environment from a safe place.
I don’t know why they are making the white blobs. Maybe they are some kind of parasites. You should get some medicine to treat it. Do you see the guppies rubbing up against thing like rocks, ornaments or the plants a lot? Maybe they have ick. But I’m not sure so do some research on parasites that may be in your tank.
edit: do they look like very tiny worms? They might be planaria. It is hard to get rid of these. But you can try changing the water more often.
