Customizing thrift store jeans?
Well, I want to customize some cheap jeans I’ll be picking up sometimes soon and I am just curious if anyone has any ideas. My usual dress is loose jeans and t-shirts. I am not very good with painting and I was thinking about customization in terms of ribbons or simple designs.
I was thinking maybe adding ribbon in a criss-cross manor down the side of one of the jeans with maybe the seams ripped open towards the bottom.
So any tips and personal experiences? Maybe some in-depth sites beyond the first page of Google with tips on customizing jeans? (Trust me, I’ve searched. )
I don’t wear sparkly things so adding rhinestones or glitter won’t help me.
My friends and I love to play with thrift shop jeans.
Our faves are when we cut small holes and paint them with bleach.
we will google jeans until we find something we like and use that pic as a base then go out side and go nuts.

as for ribbons, get fabric glue. Its simpler then sewing. Lay the ribbons how you like them and glue little by little so you can adjust as you go.
As for the cut, if you want a clean look Id take one ribbon and glue it down one side and then the other to the other, or crisscross them together down each side. Or you can just cut along the seam and leave it as is (if you want later you can add more ribbon).
For playing with jeans id recommend having these items. Bleach, cheese grater, ribbon and/or fabric, sand paper, razor, Q-tips, and scissors.
Remember have fun, mix it up, and they are cheep pants if you mess up its not the end of the world.
