Double Wing
I found a head two-headed winged liberty dime 1943, on one side and 1942 on the other. Worth?
A friend works for a company that has coins. He is always semi-rare and ancient coins. He came through six dimes winged freedom. One of them has his head on both sides and different dates. 1942, on one side and 1943 on the other. The condition is not bad, but that isn't perfect def. It is aging and fading, but the picture is clear as date. Any idea on value? Thank you.
As already said it was done outside the mint. It does not die from other years are always close to the current year. Also two obverse I can not enter the same coin press. The rear axle of death front and back are different die size and die or not fit to remain in place. The reason may seem bad is a dime was placed on the other and hit with a hammer or a portion of the back was removed and modified. There is no way your currency may be true. See a coin dealer or two and they will tell you the same thing but at least you see the coin. Here we can not therefore have to kind of guess as to how it was done.
