Storing and transportation of Glass: The transportation of glass and glass railing require some care. If care is not taken while transporting, all that you get the end of the job, a shattered glass with possibility of injury if handled carelessly. • The glass should never be transported horizontal. The glass plates and sheets should always be put in vertical position. If you transport the glass items horizontal, all that you might get at the end of journey is glass dust.
• The glass should be packed nicely so that it can withstand the transportation. Special packing material is available in market for this purpose.
• The bumps shall be minimized while transporting glass railings. The speed of vehicle should be reduced to minimize or avoid the damage.
Safety While Handling Glass Railings
Your safety is as important as the safety of the glass railings, in fact more important. While handling glass or glass railings make sure that you wear hand gloves. It is also important to use sufficient number of persons so each one handles the load he/she can safely carry. In case this is not done and the load carried by one person is transferred to other person quickly, it has a domino effect and the glass item being handled will get broken at the same time the shards of glass can injure many persons at the same time.

The life of glass is infinity and it is not affected by most acids and alkalis. The only acid that can affect glass is hydrofluoric acid. Since this acid is not in common use, the only care you might have to take is avoiding the company of boisterous children bent on breaking glass items.

Glass railings etched with glass figurines look very good. The work is done with hydrofluoric acid or with help of grinders. The artwork and geometrical forms are normally done with etching and straight lines can be done with grinders.

What about you?
I have tried quite a few crafts in my lifetime…as I look back and ponder. I have my craft room arranged in vertical shelving and set areas or stations for the different types. I have a large section for beading and jewerlry making which I enjoy and am getting quite a few referrals and requests lately. I sew and the needle and presser foot humming along mesmerize me. I come alive! I have crocheted for years. I love working with great color and that gets attention. Once I was crocheting myself a purse at our pool where we lived and ended up getting orders for 35 purses before it was over! I have dabbled with quilting and my current quilting love is making yoyos. I make hairbows for little girls for our Christmas Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child at our church. My 14 year old daughter and myself makes beaded barrettes and loads of jewelry for these shoeboxes also. I have made darling tissue pack covers from fleece and even matching purses. My 77 year old mother crocheted 175 hats for these shoeboxes also. Crafting is genetic! I am really into making cards with stuff like buttons, yoyos and rickrack. I love making bookmarks and including them with a good book for gifts for close friends and family. When I had my daughter and lived through colic for almost 6 months I developed ways to computer craft to soothe my frazzled nerves. I have designed hundreds of magnets with graphic design…from business cards to magnetics for our new church, magnets for shower tokens, magnets for resturants and my brain never stops trying to create.
I am cancer-free today 14 years and I promised the Lord that I would use all my God-given talents to serve Him and help others. I do finish plenty of projects now. In the past, I would quit and pack it away but now since my crafting serves a real purpose, I feel more inclined to carry out my projects.
