The basics of making a Bead Necklace
Making jewelry with beads of any type requires a little more time and patience, but there are certain pieces of equipment and types of materials that will not only ensure that your piece lasts, but will also make its creation is much easier. There are some techniques involved, but, once mastered, can be applied to a variety of Jewelry Making projects.
To begin, you will select your account and these, to some extent, inform the choice of materials used. heavier grains are better suited to Tigertail cable (also known as nylon monofilament or wire coated) which is rigid and does not require the use of a needle. It also has the advantage of maintaining its shape. Soft-flex wire is more flexible, is constructed of a greater number of threads of cables. Tigertail has the advantage over in one aspect, because it is so flexible it is less likely to develop strains that the most rigid Tigertail is prone to do. Tigertail also may require the use of a pair of diagonal wire cutters to make flush cuts.
Either type of cable can be used in the construction of collar and two need end to end accounts. These balls are made of a soft metal that contracts to maintain a string in the position or "close" the open end of the collar. A pair of crimping pliers is often useful to flatten these accounts and fixed in place. Indeed, the subject of accounts is compressed in a 'U', which folded back on itself to create a cordon round.
For intricate designs, a felt board of accounts is a useful piece of equipment. The designs are placed on the board before stringing and feel prevents unnecessary movement. This is the first stage of the process. Once you have settled into their design, you can then cut the required length of cable, leaving an extra 12 cm (5 inches). Around 40cm-45cm (16-20 inches) in total is a good rule of thumb for a short necklace, but of course, if you are making jewelry as it is advisable to precisely measure the neck of the person you're doing.
Next, attach a strip crimp and half of the buckle of the cable selected, leaving the mainstream media in a 'U'. The cable should then be pulled back through the press of a grain which can then be compressed into a ball and keep everything in place.
The wire is ready to receive the accounts. The double-cord closure and prevent balls fall from the wire. However, if you are making a symmetrical piece but not sure of the number of accounts to be used, must leave the hook up you have added the accounts – beginning with the central ball and the way they work, adding balls at each end of the thread, until the desired effect.
Once satisfied with your piece, all that remains is to place the rest of the buckle in the open end of the collar, using the same process as before.
